Road Closure
The section of Bultfontein Road between North Circular and New Main Streets has been closed indefinitely due to subsidence of the Big Hole. Alternative routes are clearly signposted.

Stop/Go Controls
The road is in a fair condition. Maintenance works are in progress throughout this route. Stop/go controls are in operation with delays of less than 5 minutes at a time. Rehabilitation has commenced between Kloofeinde and De Brug. Expected date of completion is November 2012.

Construction work is in progress between Britstown and Strydenburg. Motorists may encounter up to six day-time, manually controlled stop/go controls and up to three traffic signal units at night. Waiting time is +-10 minutes at each control. Further construction work is in progress between Strydenburg and Hope Town. Motorists may encounter up to four, manually- and traffic light controlled stop/go controls with waiting periods of +- 10 minutes each during the day and nighttime. Expected date of completion is November 2013.
