As a friend said this morning – feels like hell is busy freezing over!!
I don’t agree, but it got me thinking of the many folks braving the cold to watch the football and consuming a lot of OBS – amongst others.
That doesn’t worry me, but what does, is the driving bit that comes after the party.
We have been banging on about drunk driving for ages and while the messages are clear, it seems as if they become blurred the minute the car keys are picked up.
The Metro and traffic police have gone on record that they will be looking out for drunk drivers – especially during the next month. I’m not convinced that they actually mean what they said. So far JMPD have not made any arrests for drunk driving related to the SWC but there has been at least one fatality.
I beg your pardon, they did arrest that driver AFTER the crash….
So then, let’s repeat the message. Please don’t drink then drive.
Stick to the sober rule, but if you really have to, consider this; one drink (beer / glass of wine / single tot) per hour alternated with non-alcoholic beverages the next hour and no alcohol at least an hour before you drive…

You couldn't have said it better. When are people going to realize that drinking and driving doesn't pay. Come on man, do you want to kill somebody or even yourself by drinking and driving. STOP AND BE RESPONSIBLE. You are not COOL when you drink and drive
