Comesa Yellow Card 3rd Party Insurance
COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) is an insurance policy covering numerous African countries. Persons travelling with South African registered vehicles cannot purchase COMESA as South Africa is not a member of the State Countries issuing COMESA.
COMESA insurance, commonly known as the “Yellow Card”, relates to motor vehicle Third Party liability insurance. This insurance covers a vehicle in terms of the legislation, relating to compulsory Third Party liabilities in the country through which the vehicle is travelling.

South African Registered Vehicles
The AA is only able to issue Third Party insurance for Zimbabwe and Mozambique. All South African registered vehicles will need to purchase the traditional Third Party insurance at each country’s border post.
