In a bid to limit and eradicate fraud, banks no longer accept cheque payments made using the abbreviation AASA or AA of SA. Unless the cheque is made out to “The Automobile Association of South Africa”, it will be rejected by all banks. This means that all our Members who make their payments by cheque, will have to write “The Automobile Association of South Africa” or else we will not be able to accept the cheque. This doesn’t mean that Members must stop paying by cheque, if this is their preferred method of payment; it just means that they must write the AA’s name in full and not use abbreviations. There are other payment methods Members can use such as paying cash into our bank account, debit order, Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) and credit card payments. Members can also take advantage of the 10% discount on their Membership fees when they pay or renew on our website. |
