AA Road Patrol The primary objective of the AA's road patrol and battery service van fleet is to affect on-the-spot mobility on the roadside. The service is available in the major metropolitan areas of Johannesburg, Tshwane, Cape Town, Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth, Nelspruit and Bloemfontein. Some of the services offered include:
  • Change of a flat tyre.
  • Out of fuel - Provision of fuel to a maximum of 5 litres.
  • Jumpstart.
  • Mobile battery replacements.
  • Key lockout service.
  • Minor roadside running repairs, includes electrical, coil, immobiliser, battery related breakdowns, etc.

AA Tow-Trucks - Mechanical and Electrical Breakdowns The primary objective of the AA tow-truck fleet is to tow the vehicle to the nearest dealership or AAQA repairer from the breakdown scene. The service is available in the major metropolitan areas of:
  • Johannesburg
  • Tshwane
  • Cape Town
  • Durban
  • Pietermaritzburg

AA Tow Contractors - Mechanical and Electrical Breakdowns The primary objective of the AA's accredited tow contractor fleet is to tow a vehicle to the nearest dealership or AAQA repairer from the breakdown scene. The service is available throughout South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia and Botswana. [image] Tick [image] Tick
Locksmith Services In the event that an AA road patrol is unable to open a vehicle to retrieve the keys from the vehicle, or should the breakdown have occurred outside of an AA road patrol operating area, the AA will dispatch an accredited locksmith service provider to the incident scene to open the vehicle. The costs of the assistance will be covered by the AA to a maximum of R300 with the balance of the costs for the customer's account. [image] Tick [image] Tick
Emergency Medical Rescue Services The AA provides 24-hour AA Mayday emergency medical rescue services for unforeseen medical emergencies. The AA will arrange and pay for emergency medical evacuation to a suitable medical facility in the event of a medical emergency. The service is available nationally and includes:
  • Emergency evacuation and transfer to the most suitable medical facility.
  • Relocation after treatment.
  • Liaison with next of kin to keep them informed.
  • Travelling companions for stranded minors (motor vehicle collisions).
  • Transfer of emergency medicine and blood.
  • Telephonic medical and travel advice.
  • Rape crisis helpline.
  • Repatriation of mortal remains or local burial.

24-hour Car Hire (available if broken down more than 100km from home) In the event that a vehicle has broken down more than 100km from the customer's home, the AA will pay for 24-hour car hire for the customer to complete his journey or to return home. The hired vehicle will be a Group B vehicle (subject to availability). This service is subject to the terms and conditions set by the car hire company i.e. must be in possession of a valid credit card and driver's license. [image] Tick
Overnight Accommodation (available if broken down more than 100km from home) In the event that a vehicle has broken down more than 100km from the customer's home, and provided that the customer has elected to forfeit the 24-hour car hire option, arrangements will be made for overnight accommodation for the driver and four passengers. The AA will cover R350 per person for one night's accommodation. [image] Tick
Vehicle Repatriation Service Should the driver continue his journey while the vehicle is being repaired (opted for the 24-hour car hire option), the AA will pay towards the costs of providing the customer with 24-hour Group B car hire to collect his vehicle or alternatively, will arrange for a flight ticket for the customer to collect his vehicle after repairs.

Alternatively, should a customer insist that the vehicle be towed to a dealership closer to his home address, the AA will supplement the additional tow costs with the costs of car hire for the vehicle repatriation service.

Accident Tow In the event of an accident, the AA will arrange for the vehicle to be towed to the nearest AA accredited panel beater to the accident scene at the AA's costs. Pay on use [image] Tick

AA Stand By You Roadside Security Service The AA Stand By You is a 24-hour armed response roadside security service designed to keep you safe in the event of a breakdown. It provides peace of mind and personal protection at the roadside and helps to prevent vehicle theft or hijacking and vandalism. The service must be specifically requested if you feel your safety is at risk. The service is available in selected areas of Johannesburg, Tshwane, Cape Town and Durban.
