The AA today distributed thousands of NO TOLL GP stickers to motorists at major intersections in Gauteng. The initiative is aimed at creating further awareness of the need for the motoring public to stand together against the proposed tariffs, due to be implemented in April this year.
Leading up to the COSATU protest march on the 7th March, the AA hopes to galvanise the public into action. “This is not the time to be bullied into subservience, now is the time to show that we speak with one voice against tolling. Careful consideration with regards to the impact this will have on the end user is still something we feel is being blatantly disregarded,” said the AA.
AA ambassadors handed out stickers in the Sandton CBD. The NO TOLL GP vinyl stickers are becoming synonymous with the standpoint against tolling. “There is still a fight to be won, and the only way we are going to make a difference is by standing together.”
The AA is calling for the public to NOT register for e-tags until solutions to the problem are tabled that show serious consideration for the inflationary effect that tolling will have and the consequent impact on our already empty wallets!
