Validity Period of a Roadworthy Certificate

Question:

What is the validity period of a roadworthy certificate?

Answer:

There are a few areas to consider here:

  1. A roadworthy certificate is valid for a period of sixty (60) days.
  2. If your vehicle license expires and you fail to renew it before the expiry date, you will have a grace period of 21 days to have your vehicle license renewed from date of expiry and your vehicle will not be considered un - roadworthy in that 21 day grace period.
  3. The buyer of a motor vehicle must submit the forms at the registering authority within 21 days of purchasing the vehicle, along with the registration form obtained from the seller and current roadworthy certificate (it is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy).
